Since my previous post I tried the following just to make sure the incompatibility is exactly with MacMini Late-2014:I cloned the system of this MacMini to an external drive and booted a Late-2012 MacBook Pro with it.The Preferences window opens as expected! So it's definitely an incompatibility with MacMini Late-2014 running OS X 10.10 Yosemite.Unfortunately 10.9.5 can't be installed on this MacMini.
Although I submitted a direct ticket to support staff,I'm also writing here just in case anyone managed to fix this bug:the latest TW (9.0.32669) is installed on a new late-2014 MacMini7,1 running Yosemite. The problem is the Preferences window will not open, therefore TW can't be customised in general, not to mention the most important part: I can't assign it to my account - I have a business licence.I'm wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this issue on Yosemite, or perhaps is't just limited to the new MacMini?Regards,PP.

Digital DJ Tips reader Germain writes: “Question: I want to record a mix using music from a Spotify playlist in Algoriddim’s djay Pro software. There is no record button when you use the Spotify library in djay Pro. I am wondering if anyone can help? I have a MacBook Pro and I have a WeGO Controller.”

Djay Pro Refresh Spotify Playlist Youtube
This often baffles DJs when trying to record a mix they’re performing using music from Spotify in djay Pro (or other streaming services in other software, the other big one being Pulselocker in Serato DJ or the same service in Rekordbox DJ).
- Dec 11, 2017 djay Pro 2 is the next generation of Algoriddim’s multiple award-winning DJ software with countless new features, a redesigned user interface, and advanced library management tools. Djay Pro’s unique, modern interface is built around a sophisticated integration with iTunes and Spotify, giving you instant access to millions of songs.
- I really like the New Djay Pro App for Mac with the Spotify integration. I understand why the 'record' feature is unavailble for Spotify integrated mixes as its a licensing issue with the labels, and you are a streaming service not a download store.
Introducing djay Pro - Algoriddim’s award-winning DJ application with over 30 million downloads is now on Windows - seamlessly integrated with Spotify! Djay Pro provides a complete toolkit for DJs of all skill levels.

While DJ software nowadays is starting to incorporate streaming services, the issue is that the licences under which they are permitted to use music from streaming services forbid the recording of those performances.
It’s something that we can see not being a restriction at some point in the future when streaming services become the mainstream and owning music becomes an oddity, but for now, it’s there in the small print – which is why the buttons aren’t enabled. And while there are convoluted ways around it, it is currently illegal to do so.
